Electricity Distribution Case Study - Financial Model (Unsolved)
A genuine corporate finance modelling test, preserved exactly as a candidate sees it - no answers, no shortcuts, no solution sheet. You build a full integrated model from three years of historical financials and a one-page brief, against the clock.
WHAT YOU GET
Blank model (Excel): a Test Info tab, a Key Assumptions tab, and three years of historical financial statements, with the candidate build areas ready to complete.
Case brief (PDF): the full instructions, company overview, and every assumption you need, branded and clean.
THE EXERCISE
Build an integrated annual model (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for a manufacturer over five forecast years (2026-2030): sales price and volume growth, a variable/fixed operating cost split with inflation, capex and straight-line depreciation, deferred-tax timing differences, fixed-rate and variable (BBSW-linked) term debt with a revolver for cash shortfalls, plus dividends and share buybacks. Add your own assumptions where gaps exist and keep the model dynamic and printable.
WHAT IT TESTS
3-statement integration, debt and revolver mechanics, depreciation schedules, tax, and clean, logical model structure under a two-hour time limit.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Candidates targeting corporate finance, FP&A, and graduate analyst roles, and anyone preparing for a timed financial modelling test. Uses Australian rate conventions (BBSW).
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED
No answer key. No model solution. No walkthrough video. This is a workout, not a tutorial.
